Dixie Vodka: A Charleston Corn Vodka With a Southern Flavor Lineup

Dixie Vodka launched in 2014, the brand's February 2020 release says. Six years later, on 1 January 2020, it became the Official Vodka of NASCAR, the same release said.

What Dixie Southern Vodka is made from

The core Southern Vodka is distilled six times from All-American corn and is naturally gluten-free, and the Charleston, South Carolina-based brand adds southern flavors made with regionally farmed ingredients, its February 2020 release says. A June 2019 release lists the 80-proof lineup as Southern Vodka, Wildflower Honey, Black Pepper, Peach, Mint, and Citrus, with ingredients from growing partners across the Southeast. Dixie Wildflower Honey uses Southeastern wildflower honey from the Savannah Bee Company, the same release says.

How Dixie spread beyond the Southeast

Dixie entered Colorado at the request of the Tupelo Honey restaurant group, its June 2019 release says. Matti Christian Anttila, named as founder of Dixie Southern Vodka and CEO of Grain & Barrel Spirits, said in February 2020 that the NASCAR partnership was driving the brand into 25 new states within months.

Dixie Vodka at the racetrack

More than 2,000 cases had been ordered in Florida by mid-February 2020 to meet demand around the DAYTONA 500, the brand's February 2020 release says. As the Official Vodka of the DAYTONA 500, Dixie was to be served at the track's bars, concession areas, and suites, including a Dixie Vodka Filling Station, the release said. Anttila also pointed to the Dixie Vodka 400, a cup race on 22 March marking Homestead-Miami Speedway's 25th anniversary.
