Wild Roots Vodka: Fruit-Infused Spirits from Oregon

Wild Roots vodkas hit the shelves in July 2013 after Chris Joseph saw a lack of flavor-infused vodkas made with natural ingredients, The Source Weekly of Bend reported on 28 March 2018. By 2018, Wild Roots shared a production space in Sisters with Cascade Street Distillery, The Source Weekly reported.

How Wild Roots vodka started

On 27 February 2014 the Beaverton Valley Times reported that Joseph had launched Wild Roots Vodka the previous summer at the Beaverton Farmers Market, with administrative offices in Beaverton and a distillery in Bend. The two flavors were raspberry and Oregon marion berry, the paper said. Joseph and a business partner reached out to Bendistillery in Central Oregon to make larger batches, and the paper quoted Joseph on their use of Bendistillery's facilities and expertise.

From Bend to Beaverton to Sisters

Joseph was moving some Wild Roots production from Bend to Beaverton and was looking for a Beaverton-area facility for bottling and labeling, the Beaverton Valley Times reported in 2014. Wild Roots had just released a huckleberry vodka in January, The Source Weekly reported in March 2018. Wild Roots' website invites visitors to its Sisters tasting room.

Who has filed Wild Roots labels

A Portland State University alumni profile dated 20 April 2021 listed Cascade Spirits as home to Wild Roots, Broken Top Whiskey, Cascade Street Potato Vodka, Sun Ranch Spirits, and GEM&BOLT Mezcal. In the TTB snapshot, Northwest Natural Spirits, LLC of Sisters filed Wild Roots approvals dated 17 April to 29 May 2020 under the producer name Wild Roots, and approvals dated 27 October 2023 to 14 May 2026 under Cascade Spirits. Approvals dated 28 December 2020 were filed under the producer name Wild Roots Vodka at Hillsboro, Oregon, the snapshot also shows.

The snapshot also records approvals filed by House Spirits Distillery LLC of Portland in August 2022, Conspirator Beverage of Clackamas on 8 February 2023, and Eastside Distilling Company of Portland in October 2023. Each approval appears in the TTB label records for Wild Roots on this page.
