Platinum 7X Vodka: An American-Made Claim in the Releases and an Irish Label Origin on File

Platinum 7X is sold in a lightweight plastic blue bottle, the brand said in a June 2014 release. Spirits Review, an independent review site, describes that bottle as deep blue and triangular with flat corners, silkscreened labels, and a pour restrictor in the neck.

Seven distillations and a new look in 2012

Platinum 7X Vodka is distilled seven times, Sazerac said in a February 2012 release that unveiled a contemporary new look for what it called a fast-growing brand. The vodka is 80 proof, comes in sizes from 1.75L down to 50ML, and carried a suggested retail price of $12.99 for a 750ML bottle, the release added. Spirits Review lists corn as the ingredient and no importer, and notes that a full cap holds just under a one-ounce pour.

Medals and sales

The Beverage Testing Institute had rated the vodka Best Buy and Highly Recommended, the 2012 release said. Brand manager Tracey Clapp said in the same release that national sales were growing by double digits. By June 2014 the vodka had received two consecutive gold medals in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition vodka category, the brand's release that month said.

Who makes Platinum 7X

The vodka is produced and bottled by Sazerac Company, the 2012 release said. North Carolina's ABC price list names Sazerac Co. as the distiller. Spirits Review lists Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, and Sazerac in New Orleans under its distillery information for the vodka.

Label origin on file: Ireland

Every Platinum 7X approval in the BUY.VODKA TTB snapshot was filed by Buffalo Trace Distillery, Inc. of Frankfort, Kentucky and lists Ireland as the label origin on file. The 2012 release, for its part, called the vodka American-made from grain, and the 2014 release said it was distilled from Midwest grain. Explore the TTB label data for Platinum 7X on this page.
